This One Thing Leads to Lasting Business Success

Perhaps you feel stuck right now.

Maybe you are struggling to know what steps to take, or you can’t make a decision.

Maybe you aren’t in love with your offer and keep shifting your niche because you can’t seem to decide.

You possibly flip flop between ideas, offers, and marketing strategies. None of them seem quite right.

You could even struggle to charge for your services because you feel shaky.

So what’s going on here?

One thing that could be holding you back is that you have not created a strong foundation for your business’s success.

Building your foundation is an essential step before moving into the tactical parts of your business.

You may feel impatient and want to jump straight in. Of course, you need to make money. I get it.

But first, take a moment and think of your success in business like a building. You wouldn’t just decide to construct a building with no plan and start building the same day. Would you?

The most crucial part of a building is creating a solid foundation. You want to understand what purpose it serves – is it a house? Is it an office building? Is it a parking garage?

You want to visualize what you are building, create your blueprint plans, buy suitable materials, and hire the right contractor.

And, of course, you want to make sure the ground is stable.

There are many elements to keep in mind.

And once these are in place, you can start construction and know that you will create something extraordinary that stands the test of time.

Remember that your building needs a solid foundation to skyrocket your success, so take the necessary steps. It is not a race.

So how do you build your foundation?

The 3 B’s of BusinessTM:

Mastering the 3 B’s of BusinessTM is essential to your business success. Each of the three elements, your being, beliefs, and blueprint, are equally important.

Being: Your Energy, Mindset, Emotional, & Spiritual State
Beliefs: Your Identity, Purpose, Values, & Belief System
Blueprint: Your Vision, Roadmap, Accountability, & Action Plan

Being

As a small business owner, you are your business’s success. Therefore, you must maintain a peak state to have your business perform optimally. Top energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions are essential.

Energy

Do you ever feel like you have abundant productive energy some days while drained on other days?

Like many entrepreneurs, you may push the envelope and burn the candle at both ends. Keep in mind that the first reason people fail is energy.

It is essential to feel your best to accomplish your goals with ease. Your routine can dictate your overall state, so you must set yourself up in the best way possible to ensure your success.

In the laws of thermodynamics, you can’t get more energy out of a system than you put in. So make sure you are taking care of yourself to achieve optimal performance. Your body fuels your results.

Getting enough sleep, having a productive morning routine, filling your tank with energy throughout the day, nourishing your body with healthy food and plenty of water, and taking time to rest, recharge, and move your body is vital.

Are you set up for success in these areas? If not, what one thing can you shift to create more energy? Remember, just a tiny shift can make an enormous impact, so change one habit at a time.

Mindset

As an entrepreneur, you will face challenges that may feel overwhelming. Create the best mindset possible to feel good internally when things are not going well externally.

You cannot control what happens outside of yourself; however, you can 100% control your inner world with the right mindset.

There are three types of mindsets:

  1. Victim Mindset: If you think the world happens to you.
  2. Survivor Mindset: If you fought through a tough time and now think you always have to fight for everything in life.
  3. Thriver Mindset: If you are insatiably curious and will do what is needed to thrive.

Which mindset best describes you?

Having a thriver mindset allows you to be curious, open, and resilient despite challenges. Remember, the only way to fail is to quit.

Emotions

Learning to process your emotions is also crucial.

When facing a challenge, calm yourself through breathing techniques.

Identify what you are feeling, accept your current state, and decide to have a more positive mindset through intentional focus while shifting your language and physiology.

A better mindset will enable you to create new strategies to overcome your challenges and move forward so that you can take action. You will also treat every obstacle as an opportunity, reflect on the gifts of the experience, and have more insight to learn and grow.

Beliefs

Your identity, purpose, values, and belief system need alignment with your vision to succeed in your life and business.

Identity

Your identity, or self-perception, shapes who you are as a person, what you believe to be true, and how you relate to the world around you.

When your identity does not align with your goal, you will subconsciously self-sabotage to prove your identity right.

Therefore, it can be helpful to tap into your self-perception to see if there is a gap between who you perceive yourself to be and who you want to be.

Do you think of yourself as a successful person? Do you feel like you are someone who can consistently show up for yourself? Are you someone who could make a lot of money? Who do you believe yourself to be?

Purpose

If you feel like your spark is missing, you may not be aligned with your purpose or understand what is truly meaningful to you.

Your why is your North Star, guiding you while motivating you forward.

And the deeper your why, the more motivation it will bring. So if you do not have a deep purpose tied to something greater than yourself, you will struggle to be motivated when times are tough.

Core Values

Or perhaps you struggle with decision-making because you don’t know what is truly important to you, so everything is essential.

Clarifying your Core Values makes decision-making simpler, allowing you to assess where you spend time and what actions to take that align with your belief system. They should be your moral compass for all your decisions.

Belief System

Together, these components make up your belief system, dictating how you feel and behave.

Your positive or negative beliefs can affect your overall well-being and success, so make sure that your belief system supports your life and business.

Blueprint

Last is your blueprint, where you create your vision, a plan of action, and accountability through goal setting, routine, and micro habits. You set attainable and consistent goals to walk step-by-step towards your vision each day.

Vision

Imagine you set sail on a boat across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to the beautiful beaches of Spain.

You set off, excited for your journey, as you have a clear picture of yourself lying on the beach with your toes in the sand, sipping your tropical drink.

Your vision helps you to know you are going in the right general direction and are on the right track. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey along the way.

Roadmap

But as you are sailing across the ocean, you realize that you have no map. You only have a general idea of the direction to take. And although you are making some progress, where do you think the boat will end up? Well, you probably won’t wind up in Spain.

After creating your vision, you need a roadmap to know how to get there. You have imagined all the beautiful experiences you will create, and the map is a detailed plan of how you will make that happen.

Goal Setting and Accountability

And so you create your map and decide to stop on a beautiful island along the way to meet friends for a celebration, but when you get there, you realize that the event happened days before.

In hindsight, if you had done a better job of planning, you would have made it to the event on time.

Goals and accountability are essential to set sail towards what you wish to happen and keep you on track to get there. And if there is a storm, you can quickly shift your sails to get back on track and accomplish your dreams.
